Disc or No Disc? A Guide To Choosing Your PS5

One of the features that differ the PS5 from the PS4 is that the PS5 comes in two forms: The digital version and the disc version. This post aims to help you choose between the two. 

Disc Version

The main difference between the two versions is that the disc version comes with a built-in Blu-ray disc reader. This reader allows gamers to install and run games on Blu-Ray discs. 

This should be your choice if:

        1. Your internet connection is poor and unreliable, as this version allows the use of games without downloading them over the web. 

        

        2. If you have old PS4 discs lying around, this disc reader can also play these games so you can go down memory lane.

        

        3. You can pay an extra $100. 

The disc version comes with a bulge on the side of the PS5, where the Blu-Ray disc is found, and where discs should be inserted to be read. In addition, it contains an additional button that is responsible for ejecting discs out of the reader.

Digital Version

The digital version, on the other hand, comes with no disc-reader, so you should consider buying it if:

        1. Your internet connection can download very large game installation files.

        

        2. You are not a fan of Blu-ray discs that might be subject to damage.

        

        3. You enjoy searching for deals that come with downloading games online.

This version comes in a slimmer shape as compared to the disc version. It also lacks the eject-disc button and only has a power button.
